When you ask why I went to the protest,<\/span><\/p>\n

I am speechless. I am speechless because\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I even have to explain, speechless at the\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pure disgust in your voice when you ask.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I go to the protest because I cannot<\/span><\/p>\n

Fathom not being there. Because\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It matters too much to sit at home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Someone wrote once about\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking out because one day it\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

May be you they come for and no one\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Will be left to defend you but –\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s not why it matters.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I do not protest out of a selfish\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Need for reciprocation. I am there<\/span><\/p>\n

Because how can you see the suffering<\/span><\/p>\n

Of other human beings and not care?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How does the injustice not make your<\/span><\/p>\n

Blood boil, make fear bubble up inside you<\/span><\/p>\n

For the future?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

How are you not speechless at the horror?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So when you ask why I traveled<\/span><\/p>\n

Eight hours just to tell Donald Trump where\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He could shove it, when you ask why I\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Went back for more tear gas just to<\/span><\/p>\n

Hammer home to the Rochester Police Department<\/span><\/p>\n

That Black Lives Matter,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe the question you should be asking is,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
