LOVE the daughter, Jenny May.<\/p>\n
I admire her physical activity level —<\/p>\n
she is 20-some years younger.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But, no, running is not comfy for me.<\/p>\n
I prefer the pace at which I can see<\/p>\n
the variety of weeds, trees, flowers, and<\/p>\n
the breathing pattern does not change.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s notice these little white caps on clover.<\/p>\n
Seems that when I was a girl, they were occasionally purple.<\/p>\n
Be watchful of the three leaved vines on that tree;<\/p>\n
poison ivy loves to climb on, and cling to, strong trees.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Did you know this orange jewel-weed is more than pretty?<\/p>\n
It usually grows near poison ivy and really soothes the itch.<\/p>\n
Oh, I wish I had known, when you kids were little —<\/p>\n
this broadleaf plant has antiseptic elements for scrapes and such.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Your Bentley and Royce want to go faster, don\u2019t they?<\/p>\n
They are accustomed to your energy level, and<\/p>\n
they are fortunate four-legged brothers.<\/p>\n
Perhaps \u2013 and most likely \u2013 you will take them for a real run later.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Look, here is a dandelion in its last phase.<\/p>\n
You can make a wish, and blow those seeds all around.<\/p>\n
Papa Claude may have preferred all green grass,<\/p>\n
but I just love the sparkles of yellow throughout my yard.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
At this pace we can chat — how happy you are with Amy’s and Andre’s baby news,<\/p>\n
and how challenged you are with the team at work —<\/p>\n
that resents your earnest efforts to supervise and maintain.<\/p>\n
And we talk about getting back to God.\u00a0 He\u2019s waiting patiently.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So, thank you for this nice little jaunt at my grandmotherly speed.<\/p>\n
Lots of grandmothers do run like you do \u2013<\/p>\n
traveling through the paths, seeing enough to stay safe.<\/p>\n
But, I love our \u201cchatting pace\u201d and tiny nature study.<\/p>\n
