In the early morning sun, the\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scent of the lilacs wafts into my<\/span><\/p>\n

Bedroom. I rearrange my whole\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Space to move the bed closer,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Envelop myself in the comfort<\/span><\/p>\n

Of the smell I have always<\/span><\/p>\n

Associated with my mother.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the shifting light of sunrise,<\/span><\/p>\n

The lilacs caress me, comfort me,<\/span><\/p>\n

Remind me that the best things<\/span><\/p>\n

In life are temporary.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

They\u2019ll be gone in two weeks, but\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This memory will get me through<\/span><\/p>\n

The year until they return.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And so life will go, when I<\/span><\/p>\n

Must grasp the painful parting<\/span><\/p>\n

With my mother, when the\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pain and fear of life without her<\/span><\/p>\n

Overwhelms me, I will be\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reminded that it is only\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Temporary, and memory can<\/span><\/p>\n

Pull me through until we\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
