Gravel<\/b><\/h3>\n

Each footfall brings me farther from you<\/span><\/p>\n

and I know it is cliche to miss you\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

in the length from your doorframe<\/span><\/p>\n

to the front door of my Ford Escape<\/span><\/p>\n

but you\u2019ve closed the sliding glass\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

before I had the chance to look once more<\/span><\/p>\n

at those melting eyes that blend so well<\/span><\/p>\n

with the leather of the couch you had me on<\/span><\/p>\n

so rather I will think of the gravel beneath my feet<\/span><\/p>\n

wearing away at the soles of my shoes\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

first at the heel, then arch, then tip<\/span><\/p>\n

imagining what nakedness feels like<\/span><\/p>\n

amongst the stones.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
