{"id":94284,"date":"2021-06-26T17:31:00","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T21:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=94284"},"modified":"2021-06-26T17:41:11","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T21:41:11","slug":"water-and-earth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/water-and-earth\/","title":{"rendered":"Water And Earth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am the river<br \/>\nyou are the earth<br \/>\nsteely grey waters<br \/>\nbubbling over rocks<br \/>\ncollecting in the crevices<br \/>\nspeeding with the current<br \/>\ntaking me along.<br \/>\nI hold tight to your sides<br \/>\nas you guide me with gentle hands<br \/>\npalm pressed against the small of my back<br \/>\ndropping your colored leaves<br \/>\nto improve the density of my tannin<br \/>\nLife fills me and swims along between us<br \/>\nFlitting fins silver scales<br \/>\nPlay wind instruments with their melody.<br \/>\nI listen to the delicate trickle<br \/>\nThat narrows me as your embrace<br \/>\nHolds me tighter with the strength<br \/>\nOf arms of trees outstretched<br \/>\nBending over my waters<br \/>\nLooking in the mirrored glass<br \/>\nThat perhaps you could see in you<br \/>\nWhat I do and what I have witnessed<br \/>\nAnd when I look below I notice<br \/>\nAs I glide upon the sandy bottom<br \/>\nYou are there as well-<br \/>\nIn each grain<br \/>\nSurrounded by invisible life<br \/>\nAnd are stirred with a flick<br \/>\nBlending together in a dancing swirl<br \/>\nWhere I am you and you are me<br \/>\nTogether, always we.<br \/>\nAs I continue on<br \/>\nThough I may narrow till I\u2019m but a trickle<br \/>\nWhere I end is where you begin<br \/>\nBut beneath you, I still keep flowing<br \/>\nforever with you.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am the river you are the earth steely grey waters bubbling over rocks collecting in the crevices speeding with the current taking me along.
