{"id":94788,"date":"2021-06-26T17:37:24","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T21:37:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=94788"},"modified":"2021-06-26T17:37:24","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T21:37:24","slug":"bury-my-head-in-the-sand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/bury-my-head-in-the-sand\/","title":{"rendered":"Bury My Head in the Sand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bury My Head in the Sand<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>is how I felt the day of the fall.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Having played the pandemic well by having<\/p>\n<p>two knee replacements and cataract surgery.<\/p>\n<p>None of which had to be done<\/p>\n<p>but after all\u2026I was mostly stuck at home<\/p>\n<p>like everyone else with nowhere to go.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So why not get all of these out of the way<\/p>\n<p>in time for Spring and hope for the pandemic to wane?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And swinging a six week trip from<\/p>\n<p>WA State to LA in an isolated campervan<\/p>\n<p>made me feel like I\u2019d played it all right.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Until a huff and puff from the gods<\/p>\n<p>blew down and sent me flying<\/p>\n<p>through air and onto my hip.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly I was setting my alarm for the middle<\/p>\n<p>of the night to take medications, slowly ambling around.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>What is my lesson?<\/p>\n<p>Who will I be?<\/p>\n<p>But the biggest question that I really can\u2019t answer\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Was I not being careful or was it just meant to be?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; Bury My Head in the Sand &nbsp; is how I felt the day of the fall. &nbsp; Having played the pandemic well by having two knee replacements and cataract surgery.
