{"id":94897,"date":"2021-06-26T18:30:16","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T22:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=94897"},"modified":"2021-06-26T22:15:21","modified_gmt":"2021-06-27T02:15:21","slug":"a-threaten-torch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/a-threaten-torch\/","title":{"rendered":"A Threaten Torch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>A Threated Torch<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A threatened torch I carry,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">To a promised victory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">From every tempter, task and foe,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I must swiftly flee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Though fears and torment taunt me,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My mission fixed &#8211; I see,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Appointed and anointed<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">To reach my destiny.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A threatened torch I bear,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My triumphant end not seen,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The wars of life have left their marks,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Oh tumultuous climb to\u00a0<em>Glory!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My heart is steadfast; body frayed,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Not always meet to reach<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">the journey filled with the unforeseen,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Sometimes success, sometimes defeat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A threatened torch I uphold,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">With honor to achieve,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">And evil jeers to drown out the cheers<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">of laborers here to guide me.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Doubts march in to drench the fires<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">That lights this bittersweet avenue,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">My continence waves a spectrum of hope,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Empowered &#8211; not subdued!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A threatened torch I carry,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I am on bended knee.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I lift it high as mountains rise,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">The gift of Faith to lead me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Manifold challenges I still face,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">I expect and perceive<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">That the enemy knows.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">It is no mystery.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">A threatened torch I burn,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Flaming cinders spark my advance,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Hurling me valiantly from helps need,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Before His throne I take my stance.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">Life for me unfolded in a scroll,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\">And each page given a *,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em><strong>&#8220;Marked For Glory!<\/strong><\/em><strong>&#8220;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Threated Torch A threatened torch I carry, To a promised victory.
