They say that the same water that<\/span><\/p>\n

Hardens the egg, softens the potato.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So I try not to take it too personally\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When you tell me that I\u2019m being<\/span><\/p>\n

Overly dramatic, that the situation<\/span><\/p>\n

Can\u2019t possibly call for all hands on deck.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I try the tricks the therapist gave me,<\/span><\/p>\n

Breathe in and breathe out,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Count out the senses,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Write it out and meditate\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

But the sound of impending doom<\/span><\/p>\n

Is louder than any trick in the book.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yet you just sit there calmly,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unbothered as I feel the\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

World crumbling and\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaving me alone, standing\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On uneven ground.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What I wouldn\u2019t give to have\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The same self-assuredness,<\/span><\/p>\n

Confidence in things just<\/span><\/p>\n

Working out how they need to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Like magic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Isolation isn\u2019t helpful in<\/span><\/p>\n
