Holiday in December -Poem 10<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am originally from Nigeria<\/p>\n
Born in the UK to Nigerian Parents<\/p>\n
Who met in London in 1960.<\/p>\n
I am married to a Nigerian<\/p>\n
But I am British born with Dual Nationality<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We went to Nigeria for Xmas in Dec 2020<\/p>\n
On our way back we always stop in Abudhabi<\/p>\n
We spent few nights in Dubai and then on Xmas eve<\/p>\n
we arrived in Abudhabi for Xmas.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My husband booked us a Xmas buffet meal in the Marriott hotel<\/p>\n
We later went to Dubai Mall for the evening<\/p>\n
We had been to the Village with 50 Nations<\/p>\n
We had been on the \u00a0Safari ride Dunes<\/p>\n
We had also been to the Burj Khalifa<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So this was very Tourist like and being a muslim nation<\/p>\n
I was surprised with the amount of decorations<\/p>\n
We had to put on our masks<\/p>\n
We went to the market on day one<\/p>\n
We met with the locals and have made some friends<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This was completely different to Nigeria<\/p>\n
We spent few nights in Lagos the capital<\/p>\n
We left for Ondo which is three hours drive<\/p>\n
The roads were bumpy and the journey took<\/p>\n
About six hours with so much traffic<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We spent time with family- my husband is from a<\/p>\n
Large family and has brothers and sisters abroad<\/p>\n
We had so much food to eat and spent time with his<\/p>\n
Mum. My daughter and son visited with us<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The painting reminds me of the paintings in<\/p>\n
The Marriott when we walk past to the lift<\/p>\n
It also reminds me of the painting on display<\/p>\n
In the hotel reception in Dubai<\/p>\n
This has brought back memories for me.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
But I must say I look forward to Abudhabi<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t really enjoy vacating in Nigeria.<\/p>\n
