{"id":95584,"date":"2021-06-26T18:34:55","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T22:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=95584"},"modified":"2021-06-26T20:21:55","modified_gmt":"2021-06-27T00:21:55","slug":"2021-poetry-marathon-hour-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/2021-poetry-marathon-hour-10\/","title":{"rendered":"2021 Poetry Marathon, Hour 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>As much as I like the image, I went with the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/the-poetry-marathon-prompts\/prompts-hour-ten\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">text prompt<\/a> for Hour 10.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In keeping with the season<br \/>\nwe shall observe the ritual<br \/>\nas we have done for many years now<br \/>\nlong enough that the practice<br \/>\nfrom which we turned away<br \/>\nhas become unfamiliar<br \/>\nas though it were taking place<br \/>\nin a land where we do not share language<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">By coincidence, there are sacrements<br \/>\nfamiliar to those who observe<br \/>\nthat we also enjoy\u2014<br \/>\nbut this is a function of place<br \/>\nnot of loyalty or belief<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Where we and the faithful both partake<br \/>\nto strengthen bonds and cement covenants<br \/>\nthey do so for closeness and revelry<br \/>\nwhile we do so for distance and indifference\u2014<br \/>\nbecause it\u2019s only a game, isn\u2019t it<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We\u2019ll all get to see the commercials<br \/>\nfor the next six months<\/p>\n<p><em>26 June 2021<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As much as I like the image, I went with the text prompt for Hour 10.
