{"id":96233,"date":"2021-06-26T19:41:54","date_gmt":"2021-06-26T23:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=96233"},"modified":"2021-06-26T19:41:54","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T23:41:54","slug":"it-was-a-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/it-was-a-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"It was a Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Covid era Sunday on a clear afternoon.<br \/>\nNo reason to watch white walls<br \/>\nAnd old binged Netflix<br \/>\nOn a day without a cloud.<\/p>\n<p>There was no sour dough starter.<br \/>\nPiles of canned food<br \/>\nDiapers.<br \/>\nThis wasn&#8217;t stockpile.<br \/>\nIt was a house of 9.<\/p>\n<p>A put a n95 mask on my face<br \/>\nPeriwinkle gloves on my hands<br \/>\nA hat on my hair.<br \/>\nIf I got Covid it was the same as everyone<br \/>\nCoughing for weeks<br \/>\nLying in bed<br \/>\nAnd that was the best case.<\/p>\n<p>The store fronts were empty,<br \/>\nClosed<br \/>\n but the grocery hummed.<br \/>\nI take the third box in the row<br \/>\nSo afraid covid is glued on them all.<\/p>\n<p>I snag my jacket on a shelf.<br \/>\nMutter a curse.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ll have to take a needle and sew that up<br \/>\nMy 50 new pounds<br \/>\nAte up my clothes.<br \/>\nNot much remains.<\/p>\n<p>I get home<br \/>\nSpraying my boxes with alcohol<br \/>\nStill leaving them in the hall for 3 days.<\/p>\n<p>What a waste of a cloud free day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Covid era Sunday on a clear afternoon.
