\nNow that the hours have done
\ntheir work, they may dance –
\nmadly, blithely, cannabis-high.<\/p>\n

We’ve watched today’s games, partaken
\nof today’s meals, exhaled some sighs.
\nI will sleep on today’s poems, which
\nwill all look different in the
\nmorning. I didn’t even wear my glasses.<\/p>\n
(My husband’s snores are in a crescendo.)<\/p>\n
Outside, the birds are asleep, or
\nperhaps wondering why my candles have
\nnot been turned off yet, waiting for
\nthe sun to touch the trees again
