Reflections always frighten me<\/p>\n
Silly, I know<\/p>\n
They say the mirror never lies<\/p>\n
So maybe it’s the truth I fear<\/p>\n
Truth- a powerful word<\/p>\n
A subjective word<\/p>\n
Everyone has their own version<\/p>\n
He said- she said<\/p>\n
It all becomes a matter of believability<\/p>\n
Wouldn’t it be so much easier to just hold up a mirror?<\/p>\n
Like Dorian’s portrait, every hideous detail could be put on display<\/p>\n
No questions, no doubt, no misinterpretation<\/p>\n
No twisted words and innuendos<\/p>\n
All intentions clear, all truths revealed<\/p>\n
Maybe that’s what frightens me<\/p>\n
My truth lain bare for all to see<\/p>\n
Every sharp, ugly, grotesque imperfection marked on this body and soul<\/p>\n
