Ode to My Lululemons<\/span><\/p>\n

You reek of performance<\/span><\/p>\n

86 percent nylon, 14 percent lycra.<\/span><\/p>\n

My $98 transports me<\/span><\/p>\n

to an athleisure world<\/span><\/p>\n

of no judgment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Your preshrunk stretch forms to my legs<\/span><\/p>\n

more flattering than comfy blue jeans.<\/span><\/p>\n

You never bag, your fabric<\/span><\/p>\n

wicks away moisture.<\/span><\/p>\n

You transform my midlife<\/span><\/p>\n

aches & pains, wrinkles & veins<\/span><\/p>\n

to chic strength, execution.<\/span><\/p>\n

I long for your socially acceptable<\/span><\/p>\n

second skin to lift me, trick me<\/span><\/p>\n

into my best self.<\/span><\/p>\n

I hear \u201cPick me!\u201d from my drawer,<\/span><\/p>\n

for you are sure, no-fail wear<\/span><\/p>\n

for grayest, sunniest of days.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lulus sing of freedom<\/span><\/p>\n

early peoples knew well<\/span><\/p>\n

wearing nothing but loincloth.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m pretty sure experts<\/span><\/p>\n

are busy designing elder-leisure<\/span><\/p>\n

Lulus for octogenarians.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sign me up.<\/span><\/p>\n
