toy box
full
before we crawled
to exploit

proclaiming “Mine”
when another gets

coveting the one
not grabbed yet

ignoring what is held
plotting to call “NEXT”

anxious with measure
increase to pleasure

this abundance comes with
grander
responsibilities

both the idiot and miser
are consumed
with greed

both with a sales pitch
to over promise
or mislead

Thus the curse of those who
delight in
transforming wants
into
needs
