Villanelle – A God Without An Alter
Through the torn veil of the clear blue sky
she watches her creations make their mistakes;
you can see the jilted Goddess, never to be a bride.
For all that she has ever brought to life
she gives as many chances as her heart breaks
through the torn veil of the clear blue sky.
She never judges, but she has her pride;
she has her reservations which she never states
but you can see the jilted Goddess, never to be a bride.
On the day that you were born, the lonely Goddess cried
for she had found the strength within to do what it takes
by looking through the torn veil of the clear blue sky.
The Goddess never speaks a word so she never lies
when she whispers just one word the world around her shakes.
so whisper when you see the jilted Goddess, never to be bride.
The Goddess knows the world so well that you can never hide
but sleep now restless child, the Goddess will wait until you wake
As you look through the torn veil of the clear blue sky
do not look too long at the jilted Goddess, never to be a bride.

Additional Poems
Senryu – New Life
The Goddess now waits
for the seeds in her garden
to create new life.
Cinquain – A Blessing
Goddess;
I bow to thee
and bless you for this day.
My Creator, I honour you
with words.
Haiku – Seedling
From seedling to tree
many years of life contained
within one small seed.
Triolet – Grown
Do I grow because I am
or because I simply must?
I do all that I can
but do I grow because I am?
To some long forgotten plan
which has crumbled into dust;
do I grow because I am
or because I simply must.
