when we are together,
the antics start
and rarely stop
silliness, puns, irony, slapstick
all forms are welcome
once the first joke is served
the mood is set
then comes the coining of new terms,
making up absurd nicknames,
and creating new inside jokes
some bits have survived for decades
dusted up when we have a reunion
the best medicine is a friend like that
