# 12 Glowing Night

We parked the Jeep

and watched the moon rise over the lake.

Only a few clouds

glowing

with the glory of the moonlight.

The entire sky lit up with stars,

a universe-sized canopy of fairy lights

The baby fell asleep

in her car-seat.

We watched

for shooting stars

until

we

fell asleep,

too.

  1. Beautiful poem! I just came back from a week up north and this poem really resonated with me. I love the imagery and yo
ur use of metaphor. These lines really resonated with me…
The entire sky lit up with stars,

a universe-sized canopy of fairy lights

It is so dark up north…the stars twinkle that much more brightly and yes, the universe unfolds. I loved the tone of your poem as well-excellent!
