poet, potter, philosopher

a quick hello to everyone. this is my first marathon and i am excited to be joining you in this event. currently working on my mfa creative writing at mississippi university for women while living in north carolina. since i am not taking classes this summer, the marathon will be a welcom break from the research and reading i am doing for my thesis. love coffee, cats, and chocolate … and the oxford comma.

Hello from a Potato

You’re probably wondering if I’m a real human being. Sorry to disappoint you but, I am. Haha. I just love potatoes that’s why I often use it as a way of introducing myself. My physical appearance are not very far from it though. Just kidding. I love the way God created me even if I haven’t really accepted some of my own flaws and imperfections. Well, I’m a very simple girl (potato) from the Philippines and my hands are made for bleeding poetry. I love dancing with my pen on a blank paper with my heart’s rhythm as the music, composed by my brain with the walls, pillows, and blankets as my audience. This is the first time I’m gonna have a different audience in our dance and I’m not really used to it but this is me, getting out of my comfort zone. So, I do hope you’ll enjoy the dance.

.

Hello everyone… Am a 21 year old girl trying to create magic yah you got it right I am a potterhead. But I believe in dreams and the power of the pen. Am a poet, a tiny little plant trying to grow through every storm that says “you shall perish”. I believe in equality of men and animal alike.  I believe the world is a beautiful place. I believe the Pen is mightier than the sword.

Privet!

Privet is Hello in Russian. Greetings to all the marathoners and readers.

I am in my late 20’s, working in the hospital. From dabbling in rhyming, I was inspired during ‘If Walls Could Talk’ poetry open mic KL to write again. My two friends and I have committed ourselves to writing consistently and publish our work on our blog, ‘The Muruku Murmurations’. We just held our own poetry night to celebrate our one year anniversary and published our first zine. I currently help in events hosted by ‘Speak City’ a up and coming poetry movement in Kuala Lumpur.

I spent a third of my life in Russia, which I consider as my second home. I am Malaysian Chinese by nationality but would not count race as a way to categories people. I enjoy listening to people’s life stories, gaining experience and exploring life.

This is my first Poetry half marathon, firstly, I would be adjusting my sleep time and prepping word webs for different topics and themes to write about. I also have 20 WIPs and if it fits the prompt, I will work on them during the Marathon.

I am a noun and adjective,

Sweet like sweets paid by Japanese Yen,

I will leave it to you to be creative,Then reply accordingly to your comments.

I am a ‘Jacqueline of all trades’ who loves wearing plaids.

I don’t believe in things that fade and fulfills the promises that she made.

I seek the hearts of the troubled, to be a listener in times when things are doubled.

I am the kind who stands in the gap, who will only call it quits when it’s a wrap.

Introducing LadyOfPoetry

Hello Fellow Marathoners!

It is a privilege to join this unique challenge. I am Shaunton, a creative writer, poet, and blogger. My passion as a writer grew when I was in high school. During those years, I wrote poetry as therapy. Over the years, I have written and recited poems to enlighten special events such as weddings, funerals and private parties for family, friends, and former colleagues. I am able to listen to a brief story about someone and write a poem as if I totally understand their emotions.

If I could describe my poetry in three words, I’d say it is INSPIRATIONAL, POSITIVE and EMOTIONAL. Although each writer has his or her own style, I always enjoy reading and/or listening to other poets. I look forward to reading as much of your works as possible. I hope to enjoy this experience.

Best wishes to each of you!

Shaunton

Forgotten Romantic

I am a writer, a student, and a wife. I have been writing for as long as I can remember. I am a bit chaotic, a bit hectic, and a bit weird. I am addicted to coffee, especially espresso. I love Alice in Chains, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Layne Staley, Jim Morrison, and my husband.

I am currently pursuing my BA in English with a focus in the Romantic and Victorian Eras.

I am excited to see where life takes me next.

“[S]He lived. [S]He died. [S]He sang in solitude.” ~Percy Bysshee Shelley

Hello

I’m Melinda. Hello from the USA!

This is my first poetry marathon. I don’t normally write a poem a day—much less one every hour—and I don’t normally write on demand, so this will be an interesting adventure. I’m excited for the challenges of the marathon, including learning to navigate and post in WordPress. Tips and suggestions are welcome!

I write mostly positive, light poetry. I like to stretch myself by trying new styles and approaches. My current WIP is a collection of poetry for children.

I look forward to meeting other marathoners and reading their poetry. Good luck to all!
