Poem 11 – Friendship
His big brown eyes
Stare into my soul
He knows –
He can feel my pain
He props his front legs up on the couch
and rests his head down on my leg
Just as a tear runs down my cheek
I can see the concern in his eyes.
I wipe my face and feel his weight
Next to me.
He places a paw on my leg,
Sympathy in his stare.
I pat his head in thank you,
acknowledging his gesture of comfort.
