2020 Poetry Marathon, Hour 10

The prompt for hour 10 is to listen to the Cat Stevens song ‘Moonshadow’, then write a poem. Instead, I wrote my poem while I was listening, and finished when the song did.

The singer and his guitar
are chasing moonshadows

But at the rate he’s losing body parts
he’s going to be the Black Knight
in Holy Grail
threatening to bite off
King Arthur’s legs
as Arthur and Patsy
ride off through the woods

Then again, it’s almost
Saturday night—
how about playing that one next?
