After the Rain

Poem 4

After the rain

The sun does come out after all

It peeps from behind fluffy balls of cotton
It waits, it lingers
And I wonder does it frown or smile?
Silly mortals perhaps it contends
Just as it smoothly edges out
Stretching its arms as if in a yawn
Light rays spraying wide across

Like opportunity and hope and more tomorrows for us silly folk.

Perfection

Poem 3

Perfection

Toes curl away from the cold
Away from the rushing waves
Sand, such tiny particles
Collect in clumps at my feet.

Course and vile
Yet playfully soothing
I wiggle painted toes and laugh
from a depth not often sought

And I’m lighter than before
Seeking nothing more

Than to be perfection which was here from the start.

Disappointment

Poem 2

Disappointment

Dampness clings to my soul
As grey and black misty skies swirl
And disappointment
Yet another unwanted gift

Taunts

Wrapped in a bows of velvet red

That touch, that feel
Indeed disappointment taunts

Like love turned to dust

Do you hear me?

Poem hour 1

Do you hear me?

I hear the sounds between raindrops
the words you do not say, the thoughts you drop my way
But do you hear me?

The answers tucked away in warm blankets of sarcasm
The laughter that rings out to hide my fear
A subtle pause placed here and there

My silence

Do you hear?

Hello All

Hi I’m DanielleM

This is my second full marathon I participated last year and though it was hectic and demanding and almost drove me insane I had a blast.

Hoping life cooperates this time ’cause it never does. Ever! (:

Best of luck to everyone!
