Magical Rain

Thunder and lightning clash swords up there
As healing waters flood from jars onto the grounds below
Dry and arid as the living souls
Watch the children dancing and babies whispering
This can only be magic and a beautiful one

An Ex

I saw my ex at the filling station yesterday
Clothed in finery
His pungent bitterness disguised as Calvin Klein’s scent
He tried to scorn me into grounded shame….. as usual
But I stood proudly to let him see what I have become

I am all woman now
A beautiful goddess who walks upon earth
I am fine whiskey
A comfort to the cold and lonely
I am good wishes
An answer to someone’s hope and prayers
I am cute wisteria
Lovely and enough for me
I am earned wisdom
Life has taught me greatly
And I am a warrior
My scars are proudly displayed from battles won

I tell him
This is who I am
And you can never be Calvin Klein

HALLO

Hallo, Everyone,

I’m Julie Onoh from Nigeria and thrilled to be a part of the poetry marathon this year. This is my first time, you see, but I fell in love with the idea of writing spontaneously. I also write poetry on Instagram and fiction on Wattpad. Till date, I still can’t say which one I love more.

I’m considered a weirdo among my friends and look forward to meeting with other weirdos in this community.

One love ❤️
