Think again

You say

You haven’t got time

Well, darling

I’ve got news for you

You have

Less than you think

Moving Day

Never made a clean getaway

Always left hairs in the sink

And unvacuumed spider carcasses

Under the bed

Never made it past the driveway

Without smearing a tear through mascara

Or remembering my coffee cup

Left on the kitchen table

Never forgot anything

That I couldn’t ship or live without

The stuff is only so important anyway

And memories don’t weigh much

Test post/Intro

Hello! My name is Mollie and I’m not a poet. I love writing, which is why I signed up for the half marathon after seeing it advertised on Facebook. I’ve never participated before, but I’m looking forward to giving it a try.

I’m not sure I’ll be able to finish, because I’m moving across the country on Sunday and my day will be filled with last minute errands and goodbyes.

But I’ll do my best and I’ll be sure to comment on other poems when I’m able.

Can’t wait to see what happens!
