Hour 4 Prompt 4. Faith Chepchumba

DEAR JOE.

When I met you as a stranger
I couldn’t make conversation
I was a shy loner
But you made a friend in me
And I met a friend in you

As the years went by
Staying,you did care
Like the stars forming a Halo
You were the support
The friend, exceptional, kind.

I remember every day
The long walks
Visits to the park
For even when it was dark
You would hold my hand home

We have each other
Even when far apart
The pandemic struck
But our hearts are home, together
For you are the home
My home in human form.

Hour 3 Prompt 3 Faith Chepchumba.

Happy Wreck Bop.

Plain village is breaking
Schools, markets and hospitals alike
Piece by piece
Like crisps trampled, cracking
As it’s chief continue battling
In their little plain home

The schools closing down
With parents camping in protest
And displaying banners
Of the draining student grades.
Hospitals fully occupied
Outbreak after outbreak
Disaster seems looming
In their little plain home

Plain village has to wake
Against every wreck
Holding hands together
For one people they are
In their little plain home

A LIBRARY DATE.

Love

Car drive

Coffee and paintings

Library photo shoot.

My heart leaps always when I see him

For he is the silver lining in my cloud

Never dark with him, for we are love

And our love makes it marvelous

With a new bookmark for me

For my newly founded book

He smiles so wide at me.

His maroon car waiting

Door open, I hop in

For a car drive for coffee

Brewed, black, dark, strong

Just the way I love,

With the walls full of paintings

Paintings that resonate with us.

From the library cafe

The view is beautiful

A camera captures it all

A photoshoot for memories

Of our love, of my love.

OUR SUN.

She is the sun
Bringing forth light
To the dim lonely closets
Making the moments light.

She is the package of your dreams
Like an eagle still soaring
Every day selflessly living
And with hope, she is scaling.

Her aura is inviting
Every troubled soul she comforts
A smile for another smile
Hugs and plenty supports

She is the girl child advocate
For those that come after her
For their education she fights
And hope they soon join her

She is the leader of her time
Youthfully challenging norms
Gradually developing communities
Even to the courts.

Betty is the star
That always shines bright
Making Earth brighter.

The Rose.

Red, blooming

Pricks my hand when I touch

Beauty to my eyes when I see

Like the sun bright shinning

In it’s rays bright glowing.

Pink, black,orange

It comes in many coats

Painted in many colors

All of them, beautiful to the eye

But also with their thorns

Beautifully blooming.
