Grocery Shopping

Which of these
Juices
Is the best?

I ask my pendulum to decide

Swinging it in a circle
Until it triangulates
To the perfect choice.

And it always chooses perfectly.

So many choices
Too little time
Precious few dollars

To waste on the wrong product.

I feel their energies
The people
Wondering

What is that thing she’s playing with?

So, I wait
Ignoring them
Until they’re gone.

Sometimes they ask, and I explain.

I’m psychic.
I use this to make
Simple decisions.

Because I always want the best product.

God will know
The very best,
So, I ask.

  1. Usually, I don’t cooment on the first poem I see but, I absolutely loved this. Using a pendulum to make grocery shopping decisions, I LOVE this imagery. And, I thought the description was perfect…very vivid. I felt like I was right there in the frozen food section with you staring at awe at this woman swinging a pendulum. Thank you for the smile. My only correction or addition would be the last stanze
    God will know
    The very best,
    So, I ask.

Are you asking this as a question…then put a question mark and maybe re-arrange the last stanza. What feeling are you trying to evoke here…questioning, ambivilance? I think that you may need to work on this last stanza as the rest of the poem flows beautifully! I loved it and think that you may want to submit this one…very quirky and original…just work out the last stanza 🙂

  2. Hi Ingrid,

I am just delighted that you liked that one. By the way, it’s me swinging the pendulum. I use it all the time for the most mundane decisions as well as with Tarot readings and energy manipulations (aka spell casting).

I will work on that last stanza, and you remind me that I need to figure out which ones to submit, and maybe do a few edits here and there.

That last stanza reflects my absolute faith that it’s some sort of angelic guidance, or maybe a God, or something, that creates the subtle magnetism guiding the swing of the pendulum; and let me tell you, it’s amazingly accurate. It’s a statement of fact. I don’t know… maybe it’s just my subconscious mind, or tapping into the wealth of subtle collective knowledge that makes the pendulum move in one direction or another. In any case, I find that my pendulum is a far better stylist than I am when it comes to figuring out what to wear.

Again, thank you so much for your uplifting comments. <3
