Sixth poem

It’s ninety degrees!
You put clothes on a dog!?
What kind of monster are you?

He’s not gonna freeze!
It’s not cute for your blog!
And they don’t even match his shoes!

Fifth poem

I love the big man.
He’s loving and kind.
And when I say, “hold you,”
I know that he’s mine.

We like to blow bubbles
And go out for walks.
I’ll point out the airplanes
Or pull off my socks.

You’ll find us both covered,
Wearing chalk dust.
If you love him like I do,
I’ll give you my trust.

Fourth poem

The last of my kind
And it’s all my fault.
Trapped in the war
I brought to a halt.

And so on I travel
Along the time stream
In subconscious hopes
That I can be redeemed

Second poem

The park is quietest after hours.
Trespassing thrill, not for cowards.
Soft moonlight upon the pass.
We find our place within the grass.
Forever there, through the night.
Good morning comes at dawn’s light.

First poem

One, two, three, four, five, six
Submerged and amused.
Thirty two, thirty three, thirty four, thirty five, thirty six
Holding, pressure building.
Fifty six, fifty seven, fifty eight, fifty nine
Bubbles dance and race away.
Seventy five, seventy six, seventy seven
Eyes sting, lungs protest.
Ninety six, ninety seven
They surface first, victory.
One hundred twenty four
Show off…

Multidimensional person in a two-dimensional profile…

Not sure how to best describe myself here. I enjoy poetry and writing in general as way to take emotions and dynamic experiences and translate them into text. Trying to bring the full weight of language to convey the intricacies of a heart. I don’t use obscure words to sound smart, I just like the nuance of their meanings, or the way they sound, or even the look of amusement on a friend when they hear it. I also like the oxford comma. This is going to be a new challenge for me, but I am glad I was asked to participate. I am doing the full marathon. The biggest obstacle might just be allowing myself to share these feelings in this kind of public setting. Geronimo! xD
