Poem 2: Forgive

She makes to walk away

when he turns

and looks her in the eye.

And from within

torrents of endless rain lessen

the typhoon winds slow

and the hurricane ceases spinning.

She steps

when he says

Let me feel as hurt as you.

A pearly drop falls

as she wills the raging storm away.

And inside, rising from fire

the phoenix grows from the ashes.

Poem 1: Continent

You can hear the wind whistle

through the rusty rock maze

dropping away vertically

a thousand meters downward

into a river which stretches onward

through shifting sands of red desert

You can almost see the sun

and its halo of fire

behind clouds of grey storm

that wrap and blanket the sky

looming over earth with shadows

Rolling over the snow caps

of distant mountains

cloaked in fog

Connected by the plains

round knuckles of grass

brimming with dew

You are the brave soul

who walks this silent land

stepping forward

through rain falling from dusk

Intro Post

Hello,

I’m Hannah, and I’m a university student studying writing. I’ll be doing the 9AM to 9PM half marathon (from Pacific time) for my first time and hoping to be really inspired from this experience.
