(Translation)

The sun hides at night

rain clouds cover the city

City sun rises

Prompt 3 – The Smile

Hour 3 – The Smile

he stood listening to the beautiful music

played by Cello’s in the Park

With the crowd clapping and swaying in time,

he smiled at the woman passing by.

smiling back, she extends her arm

shy, he mouths “I’m no dancer”

“follow me and keep smiling” she says

1234, off they go in hold to the joyful beat.

The crowd clap, sway and cheer for the dancers

he forgets about everything, caught in the moment

a hop, a skip, a twirl, her dress extends fully

her perfectly extended arm folds, rejoining the hold

The Cello’s slow the piece down, then stop,

he smiles, she laughs as they separate and bow

the applauding audience wants more

as she walks away, looking back, he still smiles.

Hour 2 – Choices

Choices

(My opening line is from Stopping by woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost)

Between the woods and frozen lake

neither path I wish to take,

For survival I must choose one

I’ll wait for the arrival of the sun.

The sun rises, my path still not clear

no steps taken, I’m shaking with fear

The lakes surface covered with Ice and Snow

however, the strength of it I do not know.

The trees in the woods whisper “come, This way”

beautiful in appearance, can i trust what i hear them say?

I’ll close my eyes and slowly breathe in

how did i get here, how did it begin?

Between the woods and frozen lake

which path should I take?

should I open my eyes and let out a scream?

Maybe i’ll waken, hoping it was a dream

Hour 1 – The Dance of the Rain

The dance of the rain

I am comforted by the four walls,

a roof and the fire.

The bay window frames the perfect view for

the dance of the rain.

Like in any performance the

mizzle lightly drips

building momentum it gathers speed

becoming a shower.

With no further indications

the heavens open

rainfall uncontrollable as it downpours

from the clouds.

It bounces from the tarmac so hard

it dances as it rises.

ferocious in pace and downpour it

batters the window too.

I know of the damage and havoc

heavy rainfall causes

bursting water banks and floods

it helps me.

I embrace the power of the sound

of the rain which soothes

helping my body and mind relax

becoming stress free.

Like in any performance the

rain becomes a mizzle

falling as lightly as it first did

coming to a halt.

Young Lady

Young Lady

I knew from the first moment, my heart

Instantly fell in complete love

with the soul of a truly

genuine young lady.

There I’ll always be

If ever you

Need me. You

Have my

word.

What I See

What I See

Behind the fluffy clouds

Stands the tallest ever skyscraper

Its needle shines brightly

Spreading the suns light across the sky

A vision so beautiful and Hard to Beat

Holiday in December

Holiday in December

I’d love to go away in December you know

Somewhere that’s far and covered in snow

Though the hotel would need to be nice and hot

Or stay in an igloo hotel, they look like a some spot

Rest and chill, watch the Sky’s night fall

Pen, paper at the ready, a really good call.

After star gazing in awe, I’d sit by a fire

Read over my words, hoping they’ll inspire

I wouldn’t go alone, it could look a bit sad

Then again why not, it might not be too bad

Maybe I would ask a friend if they could go

I’d love to go away in December you know

A Baldy’s Notion

A Baldy’s Notion

I haven’t a baldy’s notion

A famous Irish saying

Meaning no idea

Bald men must have some notion

Annoying for sure

Likely my bald head will perceive me

Don’t judge us as fools though

You’ll be the one left gobsmacked!

Normal

Normal

Not now or never again will life be Normal!

Objection, I’d like to call you out on that. Explain Normal?

Right..am okay..let’s see…before Covid-19 everything was normal!

May I once again object? Each and every one of us is different not normal!

All I’m trying to say is life before to me felt normal

Let’s just say, were all in the same storm with different boats.

Normal as such pre Covid for me was a crazy rush.

Out every night at a different hobby, sometimes two or three on the same night

Normal during covid was difficult to navigate,

From crazy busy to Nothing – there lay the struggle

Btu! We learn to adapt. Some people don’t like changes, I get that.

Our circumstance now should be, life as we see it now is normal.

What happened pre covid-19 is history.
