My View

My view
Eighth floor window
Facing south toward town
In old highrise filled with old ghosts
Of both people and pets
Very pesky
Hazy

First Hour Eintou

I write
Lines all the time
Sometimes I write in rhyme
Often I let the muse run wild
This entertains my friends
I write for them
And Bob

12th Hour – My Cat Wound

This wound
Prevents a cat
Love my little green friends
But pet plants simply aren’t the same
As the soft meows from
A warm furrball
Plus purrs

10th Hour – Escapees

A herd of forty cows
They made their escape
In the streets of LA

Green pastures, prairies come to mind
When we think about
A herd of forty cows

But these forty were at
A slaughterhouse when
They made their escape

And they weren’t going back
So deputies shot them
In the streets of LA

(Cascade format)

9th Hour – Puppy-Butt’s Poem

Puppy-Butt and
Kitty-Butt talk
Often on the phone

But Puppy-Butt
Is fading fast
Living all alone

So Kitty-Butt
Reads poetry
In an even tone

Puppy-Butt will
Soon just ashes be
With some bits of bone

Then Kitty-Butt’ll
Toss her happily
Where she’ll no more moan

8th Hour – Two Old Women

Two old women got into a spat
One left the room, the other just sat

Who was winner of this argument?
The one who stayed or the one who went?

What does it matter who really wins?
Two old women no longer are friends

7th Hour – Cat & Frog

Frog came to visit
Late one night
Cat Ambrosia asked
“Are you alright?”

“I’m not sure” said Frog
“Light drew me near-
Window is nice but-
I’m stuck I fear!”

Softly Cat meowed
“Human, please help!
Not the camera!
Don’t make me yelp!”

Too late to vanish
Cat’s eyes went wink
Her reflection gone
With just a blink

6th Hour – A Bridge

Your path is clear
Solid wood planks and rails
Stretch out before you
Bridging a deep chasm

Insects hum around yoy
Birds call soft warnings
A brook babbles far below
Your path is clear

You have a destination
Nothing to fear
An abundance if hope with
Solid wood planks and rail

Whispering softly
Flora surrounda you
Their leafy green shad3
Stretch out before you

Just one sample
Of your life challenges
Trust yourself, and the way
Bridging a deep chasm
