If sadness grows
a sunflower
then what of anger
what of grief
A garden grows
a field
faces the sun
and glows
24 Poems ~ 24 Hours
If sadness grows
a sunflower
then what of anger
what of grief
A garden grows
a field
faces the sun
and glows
We want to get back
always turning, looking
over a shoulder, a prayer
twist towards the ceiling
and sky. We topple to the
side, one or the other,
until we learn to look
down, center, pull in and
pull up, and then find
balance to look ahead
into the brightness.
This is my first poetry half marathon, and I’m really excited to create tomorrow.
