A homeless home

Home.

I left a home I loved, too eager for adventure. I sought the nomadic life, hoping to find life’s secrets.

I traveled the globe, crossed oceans, traversed the mountains.

Without a place with deep deep roots- I was homeless. A house but no home. Too eager to leave, I missed the point.

Life’s secrets aren’t hidden away, the greatest mystery is in your heart.

In praise of ergo

A bundle of joy, a baby to hold

“Lay baby down and do some work,” is what we’re told.

Babies need mama, warm and secure,

It’s love they want, that’s for sure.

My ergo.

The perfect solution.

imageHand in hand, we walked.

The silence between interrupted by the shuffle and crunch of leaves. The icy waters threatened their power with rushes and white caps. The peaks ahead displayed their strength.

Surrounded by nature, we were but two in the whole vastness. Small, silent observers, aware of the beauty, the power, the mysterious savage mother.

Hand in hand, we walked. Silent in a world of stories.

dawn

A cool moon keeps watch in the warm night.
Her shift is soon over, ready to pass the baton.
The golden god of the sky is starting his fiery climb.
The circles turn, a day begins, the heat is on.
Her shift is soon over, ready to pass the baton.
As she departs, the silences soon leaves with her.
The circles turn, a day begins, the heat is on.

Use the day until the last light’s spent.
As she departs, the silences soon leaves with her.
A cool moon keeps watch in the warm night.
Use the day until the last light’s spent.

Angst

I see you there all cool in your imagined success, feeling smug as if you pulled it off.

I see you there.

I see more than the form that you you. I see the hurt, the pain, the lies. I see the truth you try so hard to hide.

Time eases the wounds and scars and I almost forget. I don’t want to forget – I need to remember.

I need to remember what I really see when you sit there so smugly.

I see you.

Where is the autumn?

The August heat is upon us, covering us with sweat, a dewy sweat that doesn’t cleanse us. Tensions rise and I want to hide. Your past has caught up with you, a change in you I thought I could avoid. Where is the autumn and it’s refreshing, crisp reconciliation?

Leaves falling on us

A cool breeze, cleansing air

Rejuvenation.

*prompt 6

Stranded in the hollow

Worlds away.

Against my will (yet I allowed it).

In a home that wasn’t mine (on loan, a safe house).

I need to connect (yet no signal to bring me home).

A worthless bridge (lifeless without invisible power).

How will I survive (worlds away)?

*hour 5

Maps

A pregnant pause.

A decision too momentous to rush.

“Is this really where you want to be?”

His soft tone hid the power of the question.

To be in a place – to live in a place is to determine the rest of time.

A choice that ripples in time.

A dot on a map, seemingly random numbers of a coordinate.

The words “no” quickly rush to the poignant conversations.

Dialogue, discussions centered on a place.

To be. Exist in a spot.

“Is this really where you want to be?”

No.

Hour 4 prompt

Before Darkness

Before darkness,

the twilight.

The sun’s warm beams soften, glow.

The harshness of the day subsides.

Beauty is intensified.

The earth is a canvas painted with peace and warmth,

oblivious to all that is not beautiful.

Before darkness,

preparation.

The bittersweet goodbye of a soul,

knowing his journey is inevitable.

The chance to unburden hearts and thoughts.

Before darkness,

peace.
