The Poetry Marathon

Everywhere I go,
It haunts me everywhere I go!
No one ever seems to know,
Never leaving me happy,
or energetic.
With never anything to show,
every time I turn a corner.
It is there like a darkness,
lingering over me;
Watching me as I sleep,
Laughing at me as I weep.
It haunts me…
Everywhere I go!

His name was, ‘Tyson.’
He was always loyal to his family!
He was a German Shepherd.
He was crossed with a Rottweiler.
Two vicious sounding dogs!
He was the most loving and caring!

The heat from the sun lingers after dark,
When the owls and foxes come out to play.
When you hear the town go silent.
When there is not a single life force in sight,
is when WE come out to stay!

At night I lay awake,
And the floors start to shake!
The doors start creaking,
And the walls start speaking,
As my chest truly aches.

Lemon Haze,
It leaves you in a lemon daze,
It takes you to a lemon maze,
And waits for you to fade!
Lemon Haze!

He was just a small boy,
hidden from the world.
Kept behind walls so no one could see,
see the miracle that be.

He was God’s gift,
blessing an ungrateful couple.
Never being loved or cared for.
Never being able to make friends.
See the miracle that be.

Just because he was slightly different,
the parents ashamed of him.
They would not take him out,
show him in public.
In case people might see,
SEE the miracle that be!
