Demon Time

Allow your demons to help you.

they can, if you let them in.

they are banging at the door,

and that noise,

that fear

ends when you

open the door.

fear not,

breathe.

realize,

you are here.

Heal

When I was young I was quite the adventurous bundle
With wide eyes and chubby legs made to trundle

They took me many places

Into the sagebrush forest
Across cacti fields
To the umbrella tree

These were sacred spaces

I followed imprints in the sand
Howls on the wind

Some days
The sagebrush cut my arms
The cacti left spines in my feet
The trees did not shade me from the heat

When I could not keep up
I would return home
Tears in my brown eyes

My father would hear my cries
Bandage my cuts
Remove the cacti from my soles
And soothe aloe on my burns
He told me I would never be left behind

My father always had a solution
and wrapped in clouds of gauze
words of affirmation
and tender love
I never scarred

Cherished? /hr5

Fleeting glimpses

Inner minds staring eyes

Now unsure with trepidation

Who you thought you knew

Where you thought you were

Keeps hittin rewind

Playin the before time

You are so cherished”

Way before I even knew

Where it was you really went

……… & with who

Empty words hang in the air

Decayed decade of lies

Replaced by silent space

Every time,

I glance sideways,

To see the vacancy of lies,

Nonchalant,

Drummers, a dozen a dime…”

Behind shaded eyes,

I’m getting slammed by a semi.

Please say you’ll come over and chase the shadows away….”

blah blah blah….

I’m starting to not feel cherished anymore.

{Anguished}

There’s a helluva lot of anguished souls up there

Wondering what had hit them

Overtaken by this novel virus

Stricken, incapacitated and scared

Their last moments on earth spent

with crackling lungs and a feverish body

Shuffling off the earthly coil

with not a loved one in sight

And meanwhile the rest of us

live tormented by the overwhelm

and wonder who will be next to go

The anguished souls turn their backs

The earthbound pray for respite

Mother earth lets out a long slow sigh

and with a wry smile says:

“That’ll teach you now, won’t it?”

I need your love

I need your love
I need your understanding
I am tree
I live in the forest
I live around your house
I provide you with shelter
I serve as wind brakes
I provide you with oxygen
From my green leaves
I leave you refreshed
All day long
I act as your shade
When the sun is at its zenith
I remain faithful
Never complaining
Always taking the brunt of weather changes on my broad branches
I do not complain when you cut off my branches
I bear the pain
When you rip off my leaves
I murmur not a word
This is because i love you
You despise me, i know
And yet i remain faithfully loving you
Yet
You seek to bring me to my knees
By cutting me down
What is my offence?
What is my sin?
I do you only good
You repay me with planned destruction
I need your love
Please love me back
Albeit, a little
Do not kill me
Do not take away my pride
I beseech you
I need your love

Sharing, Caring, Bright Beach Umbrellas

Unique, colorful umbrellas seated side by side
Dancing to their own choreography
Getting along easily
A community of colors
Radiating hope
Spreading joy and beauty when open
Yet still bright and positive when closed
…Why can’t we be more like them?

Scream

Scream

When the heaven is too dark
to behold the reflection of its beauty,
moon and stars are called to lighten
the world, as song would, on gloomy days.

Depression is another name for mortals.
It’s just that when it calls,
we do not answer at once –
it could be my turn tomorrow.

The last time I bore grief,
I disobeyed my aunt asking me
to lower my voice, as if she loved
to see me blend with the night.

I am not saying she’s a devil.
But there are ways demons hunt you
and everyone around you wants you silent.

Do not be a hush sea in times like these.
My voice is always yours to lend:
seek for additional voices, and scream.
