Hour 14: Cock.

read it like a scripture,
and tore up the pages,
set sights on the red horizons,
and has his body on my mind.
The last few lines, injected me with pleasure,
he ruled every letter for every word, from out of my timid mouth,
it went…
soft caverns:
my last prayer was for him to punish me senseless,
but he loved me too much, he couldn’t empty himself into my violet chambers.
he whispered it’d be indecent and he wanted to keep me pure, whatever that meant.
he was a marvel, enigmatic savior of my blackened sky,
hetero-deity, washed his skin in apple vinegar, he would linger and speak me senseless,
his ideas cascaded like weed and unsmoked cigarettes, with their scent and my indecision,
i levitated with every tepid warning from my body,
to be indecent meant to rule the kingdom, I was desirous, but not just for flesh.
say it’s long, say it’s ugly, say it’s impure
say it beautiful, say it mingling in the desperate spot,
he fought his way into smoke city, fucked all who were capable of pure power,
and in the aftermath, I stood his test of time.
to be sublime and relentless, dispossessed of all claims,
I ruled the small lands, with his bated breath, I fought for warmth,
and his sweaty hands to cover me.
I knew fire, but not like this, I wished for everything to fit in one place,
and counted my blessing and stole demon’s from satan’s den,
and I dare not cause a scene, when discussing how much control he has on me and the world.
Some shape-shifting wolf in the forest, found the castle and upheld his desires,
to rule the world and create, out of habit, he made a claim to punish.
I want to punish the skies with his embrace, and laugh in his face,
and say his cock is the only beautiful thing about his body,
but those lies would cave us in and I’m dying for some sentiment from out of his godly mouth.

Close ties

Closely knit family

Always in jubilation

Something fishy happening

A great silence between spaces

Knowing what lies ahead

An opportunity for growth and living economy

Underlying precepts always enduring

Lessons learned keeping in logbook of living

Moving forward new acceptance

New ties within the circle of living

Withdrawal

The bones ache

The nerves re-alight

Forgotten pain courses through the veins

Surging with evening

And crashing once laid down

Hot and cold

Craving comfort and solitude

Everything is too much

And not enough

All at once

SEVENTEEN

The origin of tears

Because we began as rivers stretched supine
along the slow-carve trace of sea-flow —
because we stared up into the chronology of light
and into the faces of saurian beasts
who saw in our liquid musings only themselves —

because the seasons passed over and through us
and we were absent volition, moved by the will of water
and mud, by the rain of cinders, by the slow unfurl of ferns,
witnesses in that waiting to meteor and eclipse,
scorch of heat and frost —

because in that great duration we could not sing
or laugh or point at the first crack in the egg,
we could not turn toward one another or away,
our meager cells scarred by a battalion of abuses,
our glue untested, at every tide change

threatening to split apart and wash away —
because when the sea abandoned the shore
to a sandscape of wind, we rose in gouts of dust
and fell again into an unwelcoming oven
where the margin of life was too small to measure

and invisibility equated survival —
because we were so near extinction
before we had truly come into being —
because we were less than dust
in a gully etched between lava flows —

because we recognized the hopelessness
of our survival, our evolution —
at that moment we compressed all energy
toward the center, as we do still,
and expressed our parched hopes with tears.

Light

Angel of light came to free my soul from the hell of fire.

That covered my soul.

Angel of light bring my body to a place that was away.

From hell of fire.

My soul was so scared from the fear that was upon.

My soul.

The angel of light wiped the warmth of her wing’s.

Around my aching body.

Bring my body to a place where it could mend.

Of the evil from hell of fire.

That had my body capture in the darkness that over.

Powered my soul.

The Whisper

I wonder some times if you think of me

Of late nights intertwined in each other’s secrets

All our masks off and guards down.

The smell of you made me feel I was home.

The look in your eyes made me swear it was love.

That kind you read about in the classics.

That kind they sing about in oldies.

Walks in the soft purple rain holding hands.

Kisses that told me you were afraid of me.

I wanted to hear you whisper that you would miss me when I was gone.

Prompt for Hour Seventeen

Write a poem about the first person who broke your heart.  The person who broke your heart could be obvious – it could be your first boyfriend or girlfriend, or it could be surprising. It could be a friend, a parent, a child.

10pm

A streetlight on a city street

Pale circle in the dark

Offers haven to one mind,

Searching for an absence of shadows,

A place from which can come no hidden attack.

But to another,

The streetlight circle is no haven

But a dreadful spotlight

The bull’s-eye in the night

For those with villainous intentions.

What is the human mind,

And what powers does it hold,

That it in stark contrast

Presents the facts so?

The fact of a city streetlight.

Hour 11 – From A To B

Prompt for Hour Eleven

For the twenty first time, Mr. Noname,
You are suffering from temporal amnesia,
the kindly doctor had said.
I hadn’t argued, but I knew that.

Nothing to do, nowhere to go
Food tasted strange
The people looked funny
A Turing machine in déjà vu mode

For a while I would stand at busy crossroads
Sit in airport lounges, hang about train platforms
Purposeful strangers, going to meet other purposeful strangers
Knowers and havers of identities

I now travel. Fuck amnesia.
The other day a tree almost recognized me
Last week a dog bit me, and I think I remembered my mother
Life’s good.
