Memories

The clouds reflect the memories past
Wind sweeps them away, never to last
secrets held so deep in this place
Impressions of every emotion and face
A place once with life, now empty and bare
No laughter to warm it, no sorrow to share
A gentle reminder to all that pass by
Life passes quickly, like the blink of an eye

Hour Seven

There’s an elephant in the room
It stands on my lips
Wraps its thick gray trunk
Around my throat
Constricting breath
Restricting honesty
Prodding me to go on
With charades and games
What this circus needs
Is a ringmaster without a whip
One with purring baritones
Or soothing tenors
To lull love into the spotlight
And make sense of the show

The wedding vow

You accept me for being me, the greatest gift, only you can give.

i can be myself, with no other pretense and you never complain.

when I feel like crying or don’t laugh at your joke and when I am upset, you give me some space.

sometimes, when I am  tired and no energy to make love, you held me tight to sleep, all through out the night.

i want to spend the rest of my life with you because, you’re the best friend, I’m proud to have.

as time goes by, we became stronger and richer, wiser and closer, when there’s a rocky road to cross a mile.

we share our dreams, our losses and our fears and together, we stand victor.

we find comfort with each other, sharing family events, funny or touching, interesting or not, we still get along well.

together we stand stronger, we survived our ups and down, in all kinds  of weather we face.

our triumphs and losses are easy to bear because, you’re always there.

we smile and shrug our shoulders with our imperfections and faults because, we’re just human being.

we tried to be sensitive to each other’s need and do my best of what you expect of me,

but, you’ll always tell me, “I don’t mind” and “it’s ok”. You’re so thoughtful and you expect much less.

i love your being funny and candid, it brighten up my day and you  never even forget to buy me roses.

remember when I was sick,, you felt my pain and cry with me.

you even cheer me up, by encouraging me to do karaoke with you. I didn’t know, that music is good therapy, though.

and, we sung together, even I’m out of tune..

maybe because, I’m sick and can’t carry myself well, but your trust, made the difference.

you know what, I feel so relax and comfortable when I’m with you like.. a good old shirt you wear in bed.

thank you for all the love.. Honey boo boo.

(Prompt for Hour Eight!!!!

The dreaded form prompt! This year I scheduled it a lot earlier in the marathon. This year the prompt has to do with my favorite form, the pantoum.

The pantoum is a form of poetry similar to a villanelle in that there are repeating lines throughout the poem. It is composed of a series of quatrains; the second and fourth lines of each stanza are repeated as the first and third lines of the next.

Now in case that all was a little much for you, here is a link to a pantoum generator Jacob made: http://jacobjans.com/pantoum.html

The key to writing a pantoum is to write about something that either obsesses you, or something that automatically requires some sort of repetition (ie cooking).

If you want to the repeated lines can include some new words, but they should still be recognizable.

Here are two good example pantoums:

Masquerade

Masquerade

The paintbrush voices the words I cannot speak
The landscapes open up the emotions I cannot show
The pigments flourish where I fail
The pallet reaches out with a gentle touch

The landscapes open up the emotions I cannot show
A whisper of feeling, of love, of tenderness
The pallet reaches out with a gentle touch
Hues cascade into a mélange of emotions

A whisper of feeling, of love, of tenderness
The paintbrush voices the words I cannot speak
Hues cascade into a mélange of emotions
The pigments flourish where I fail

Summer Bliss

Time for old Friends and fireflies

Tales of days back when and laughing eyes

Summer nights and swimming pools

Smiling wide and breaking rules

People we love and people we miss

Are here to celebrate this bliss.

Beer four

Beer number four and poem number eight.
To hell with it, I’m feeling great

It’s still hotter than hell
But it’s okay cause I fell

Into the pool
Where it was cool

Away from the heat
And I had a seat

The water and the man in it was so fine
My wife is lucky that she’s mine

Off I go to beer number five
Steaming towards the next poem when I come alive
