My 4th full marathon — looking forward to it!

I am looking forward to Saturday/Sunday, a favorite event.  A creative, inspiring, personal challenge that I share with poet friends who want to stretch poetic muscles.  I’ve published two previous marathon collections.  Last year’s is DogSpeak, and I’m supporting North Shore Animal League, the world’s largest no-kill shelter organization with proceeds.  That would never have happened if not for the poetry marathon.  Thank you for makng this happen and for keeping it happeneing year after year!  Grateful poet, kindred spirit.  Write on!  J R Turek

Poetry Marathon journey

Hello everyone.  I am a poet and author based in the North West of England, UK, at the start of my creative writing career. I’ve had some success in a couple of anthologies. My themes are around place and personal agency, nature, experience and connection.  I’m hoping the marathon will help build in me the resilience to write on the hour every hour.

Getting ready

Not sure I’m prepared

Starting out sleep deprived and

so much has happened this year

I haven’t been writing as much.

Rain patterns have been so scattered

maybe I need rain to write

Half Marathon

Hi my name is Idorenyin which is an ibibio (Nigerian) name that means hope.

My tummy is in knots just reading about the Marathon. First time jitters perhaps. I chose the half marathon because it’s my first one and I wanted to get my feet wet.

So who I’m I?

A writer, poet, communicator, jewelry designer, a bit of a neat freak, somewhat adventurous. I’ve lived in several countries and find humans to be quite interesting and sometimes entertaining😊.

I hope to be able to start and complete the Marathon. Please share what helps.

I wish all participants the best of luck.

Saturday!!

It’s coming soon! I’ve been preparing my brain to take part in the marathon for the first time.  Looking forward to writing and meeting all kinds of cool poets!!

Withdrawal – many apologies

Sadly, I will have to pull out of the (half) marathon this Saturday.  Family circumstances mean that I will be occupied pretty much full-on throughout the weekend and I can’t see any way round this.

I hope this won’t disqualify me from participating in future years. It sounds such a motivating and inspiring event to take part in.

Much love and best wishes to everyone engaging in the marathon this weekend : )

Back!

…For a second try, as it is the only way to top such glorious failure.:-)

Let the games begin!
