Hour 8

Gigan: Roe v Wade

They tried overruling history
but we would not let them, we came

to the streets. Waited in the bunker
that is a metro station in NYC.
We may have stood in silence for an hour

but you shall hear our voices.
You rid the country of its safety, pulled the trigger

on children’s deaths. Count their lingering
ghosts, count your own sins.

In this graveyard, we are pro-justice.
They tried overruling history

but you shall hear our voices.
Now my heart cannot go to rest at peace
when I think of all the people who have fought this battle before.

You did not ban abortion from this nation,
but took away the safety net for half the population.

Community of interest (Hour 8)

What is the meaning of justice?
Do we really want to defeat harm?

I fear choosing what’s right
And I fear that others will choose for me
In the end what I use is empathy

What can I get away with?
How much do I take?

This question puzzles me
But others seem to believe

If I’m alone with this,
What is the meaning of justice?

What can I get away with?
How much can I stay out?
I know no answer but empathy

Whom to do business with, though
Is still a perplexity

Hour 7: Prompt 7: Older

I hope when we become older, we still share the same love as we do now.

So many trials and events have occurred throughout our time

Yet they did nothing but bring us closer

In my arms is where I hope you always remain

The Thicker The Blood/ 7th Hour

Sibling love, soul mates, twin flames
Perhaps from a different time we came
Connected at the root
Through the spirit so divine
So alike yet so different
Both etched in time
Giving more of themselves
To one another than others
Speaking without words
An understanding reserved
For a sister and brother
A connection that holds
The weight of the stars
Yet light as a feather
Repairs any scars
No matter the distance
Wherever they are
Nothing able to keep them
Apart for too long
Sibling love…
Blood thicker than water
Bound by invisible strings from the Father.

Hour Eight – Rewrite

He was like a fresh spring breeze
The wind always knocked me off my feet

I had never met a purer love
Or a more gentle soul
No one had ever shown me what love was until him

He always made sure I was safe
That I felt happy and loved

His kiss was like candy
Sweet until the very last drop

The years ran together faster than any other time
And he was like a fresh spring breeze

He always made sure I was safe
And I was when I was with him
I was safe and secure from all harm

But the truth is, these were all lies but for some reason
I will always rewrite history when it comes to you

The world sings

The sun raises it’s rays to light up the

world And all creation comes alive

responding to the glorious, nutritional,

renewing heat.

Things become alive they begin to shift

into place and out of place

As the yellow ray maker injects it’s brand of brightness

All of life from a man to a fairfly springs

into step to the call of nature’s motivator

Beings need the boldness of the sun

that beams it’s statement loudly and

  1. splatters it’s so all can see the light

Such beauty, such glory, it energizes the soul.

Gigan # 1 (2022 Poem 8)

Gigan # 1

What shall we seek, you and I
Upon this shared journey through tide, time, and space

Searching for purpose and meaning within the universe
You’ve found the reason is for betterment of others
I think the paradox is in the evolution of humankind

Purely created of my own imagination
There can be no purpose in the existence of others

Time for dreaming is at hand
I shall make a new reality

A panorama of perfect possibilities
What shall we seek, you and I

Purely created of my own imagination
We will be love, hope, grief, strength, joy, madness
Felt in equal measure

Dancing across the stars
Until the end of tide, time and space

#8 A Cairn

A Cairn

the eggs have turned to stone,
the once warm nest, now turned cold,
nothing will hatch from their solitude.

a marker laid fallow
when no love or conversation
sparks the seed of life.

Hour 8: Now not wow

curvature of Earth is but a mirage

set in the miracle hall of home

Earth is crumbling, she is kneeling, we are not fleeting

we are rambling, she is pleading, we are not freaking

change is here, chance to act is now

tomorrow may not come, the marrow may be gone marrow

our bone no more

no need to turn vegetarian, we can be flexitarian

Are there scalable alternatives – or, this is all futile

the once azure sky has receded into a trance

curvature of Earth is now marred

bone marrow is no more for tomorrow

yearning we yearn – learning we shun

nature will fail to nurture…

Earth will smile again, embracing us in an enraged passion

worth each one’s effort, Be the climate action…

Nameless Gigan

Seated at the counter’s edge
I cannot bring my greatest lev’

rage against those who would try
to take from me my heart’s desire
and throw my rights into the fire

My pain today is well known as
the world begins to grasp the

weight of what they’ve placed upon
the women, left to sink in ponds

Seated at the counter’s edge
The image asserts itself again

My pain today is well known as
the life I pictured takes the past
and asserts the values of the ass

who falls upon his religion and
strikes us with his pious hand
