I love anything that crosses the line to scifi! I never was much into it until a was in a writing group with someone else who was. I have learned to appreciate how much fun it can be to cross that line, even in just little bits of references or as humor. The fact that most people will “get” this reference is a reflection of something we have in our culture (whether we “believe” in it or not), but this also comes at a time when even military officials are publicly acknowledging that they have footage of flying objects they cannot identify (even they struggle to use the term UFO). So – who knows?!
