Dear A
This is belated but never out of my heart.
I was overjoyed to see you in class, as my student,though you were three years senior to me in college. I would remember you often because you were an inspiration for me. Your dedication to social work, helping fellow students with notes, and I would notice a group of learners always gathered around you during breaks from the classes.
Time flies , time flew but time did come back.
This time it was much difficult. Being senior is a challenging position, but you showed me how to be a leader.
After all these years I pick up my pen to thank you and hope that life has been kind and successful for you.May you always be a leader and an inspiration where ever you be.

Window, looking back
Window, looking back
I wonder if they are two way.
Now from the outside, the
drapes drawn heavy
only obscure the view
within.
Looking back I can
observe what past inside.
Only I did not grasp what
keeping truth of me meant.
I had to walk away.
Now in the today I am
going on ahead.
Backwards thinking is
a trip I won’t make, I
cannot go to that place, but just
keep on and don’t look back.
Reading both of these, I was struck by “circles” of the memories because time will not go back, so we need to remember. You cannot reach out to the person you once knew, so you are generous in sending out the general hope that “life has been kind and successful” which touched me. You did not seek to reconnect for a change in your own life. You have a firm resolve at the end to break a wistful (perhaps wishful) looking back, however, with your final reflection, “I cannot go to that place, but just keep on and don’t look back.” This is a strong lesson that I — a self-identified nostalgic romantic — need to better learn for my life.
