Hour 4

Hour 4:

Never picture myself caught in the lies of a love affair,

I initiated more,

Nonetheless, I couldn’t fathom you would take it there,

omittance of truth,

Is the same as a lie,

So looking at you the same,

Is going to take some time,

No need to express any emotions,

The parameters of our relationship was not thoroughly established,

But I should have noticed your sporadic habits,

I had a feeling, but like a child on the playground, I let it slide,

Seesaw, roller coaster of emotions, along for the ride,

Questions should’ve gotten answered,

Questions that never was asked,

Moments to years… Time went so fast,

Questions speed through my mind like an olympic race,

We must talk for my thoughts to hold steadfast,

Though I’m not just yet ready to take on this daunting task.

My vulnerabilities may open, this page has passed,

I’m turning a new page, (the books still open),

Using different color ink,

Displaying what it means to be free.

Hour 3 Haiku

Hour 3 Haiku

Seasons to seasons,

I feel the change in the air,

Blowing wind, zip up.

Hour 2: 10 Years Ago

Looking through a window to what was once unknown,

Look at me now,

From where I was ten years ago.

Who could’ve imagine how much I’ve grown,

My current blessings are through past seeds that have been sown,

So I plant my seeds now for blessings of tomorrow,

Knowing God will comfort you through the unknown,

And hopes for tomorrow,

In the morrow’ we remember the mistakes of 10 years ago,

For they are learning curves in our journey of growth.

Hour 1: Good morning

Hour 1

Tanka

Good morning to you,

Good morning, how do you do,

The sun is shining,

You woke up, it’s a new day,

Be gracious in every way.

It’s Almost time!

Who is just as excited as me? It’s almost time for the poetry marathon. My name is Kristyna. I am a teacher and small business owner. This is my third year doing the poetry marathon. The last two years I did the marathon I had a vendor event on Sunday and I was up all night and head to go to an event on Sunday. This year is not the case, I will get to get some sleep after the marathon is over. I’ve been waiting for the marathon as it is starting later this year than it did last year. I plan on challenging myself this year with writing different types of poems and possibly sticking to a theme. Good luck to everyone and happy reading.

Hour 24

Tell me that I can’t,

I will show you that I can,

I must persevere,

Don’t underestimate me,

Watch me as I prove you wrong.

Hour 23

I hear the water rushing as I approach the trail,

Not long of a walk before you match the sight to the sounds,

It looks as pretty as it sounds,

Listen closely, you can hear the water hit the rocks on the riverbanks,

Chirping birds, rustling trees,

From the slight winds breeze,

What a serene sight to see!

Hour 22

This year is different,

It’s easy to point out why,

A new set of personalities to learn,

I don’t think there’s enough time,

I must step up and lead,

If not, there will be chaos,

And they will fall even more behind,

Our goals should be similar,

Overall with the kids in mind,

Based on my calculations that’s not what I come to find,

Listen to my expertise,

I don’t meant to be frank,

But when I’m right, I’m right,

I’m sorry you don’t agree,

But frankly it’s not about your feelings,

I’m well educated and quite intellectual,

You should listen to me,

I demand respect,

Just as you do,

Cooperate and listen so we can do what we came here to do.

Hour 21

Schools are out for break,

Highly anticipated,

Children are anxious,

The school staff is excited,

Tag, you’re it, it’s your turn now,

Hour 20

Nights are long and hot,

Mosquitos and lightening bugs,

Backyard BBQ
