Girlie – Hour 14

I imagined you as a baby girl

Sleeping soundly in your bed.

I imagined you as a little girl

Playing happily at the park.

I imagined you as a high school girl

Driving your first car.

I imagined you as a young woman

Living life on your own.

I see you now as a grown woman

Slaying dragons and fighting windmills.

Knock, Knock – Hour 13

I see you standing outside my door.

Thinking it’s me you’re here for.

You stand there with brochure in hand.

But I’m not buying that piece of land.

Keep on walking right down the street.

It’s not time for us to meet.

Christmas Eve, 1965 – Hour 10

When I was a little girl, I remember

Looking up into the night sky and

Seeing Santa Claus and his reindeers.

I’m pretty sure it was them.

It may have been a plane,

But one can always hope.

Everything happens for a reason – Hour 9

I took my friend to Freshman Orientation.

You volunteered to work at Freshman Orientation.

I was sitting in the stands.

You were directing students to their seats.

I was looking in your direction.

You were facing my direction.

It was love at first sight.

The rest is history. 😉

A Long Drive – Hour 6

Are we there yet, Mommy? Are we there yet?

Soon, baby, soon.

That’s what I kept telling my son who sat in the back seat.

Mile after mile as we drove to our destination.

Daddy.

He was returning from his last tour of duty overseas.

Daddy.

He was finally coming home.

Daddy.

My husband’s “mini-me” kept pointing out the window at each plane he saw.

Is that him, Mommy? Is that him?

I don’t know, baby, I don’t know.

That’s what I kept telling my son who sat in the back seat.

Mile after mile as we drove to our destination.

It had been a year since my husband left. A lot had happened in that time.

I looked down at my growing belly and sighed.

when I’m in you – Hour 5

I slowly slip into you

and…

you envelop me

in

a cocoon of wet

warmth. I come

to you

for the

cleansing my soul

needs and

my body desires. You

leave me wanting

more.

I love you

when

I’m in you.
