I dream of a world
where love holds sway
where each looks out for the other
where peace resides
i dream of a world where war is extinct
i dream of a world where education and access to it is possible and free
i dream of a world absent child abuse and sexual offences
i dream of a world where famine is no more
i dream of a world where child and maternal motality is nil
i dream of a world where environmental sustainability is promoted by all and sundry
i dream of a world absent poverty
i dream of a world devoid of sickness
i dream of a world with gender equality
I dream of a world of perfection itself.

At the edge
At the edge
From her little corner
Hesitant
Fearful
Looking down
At the edge of the party
Timidity
Self doubt
Doesn’t allow her leave the edge
Her feet are rooted
Just at the verge
Her head screams yeah
Her heart screams nay
Fear of the unknown
Keeps her from tipping over the edge
She remains just at the periphery
Wishing
But, never doing
Zombie
Zombie
It is dark
The streets are rain slicked and deserted
Thunder rumbles overhead
Promising yet another downpour
A few cars are seen driving past
As a lonely figure walks almost with calculated steps
One feet before the other
Same pace, unhurriedly
Same pace, mechanically
She is dressed scantily
A pair of bum shorts and a halter top
The rain starts to fall, abruptly
Her gait still isn’t hastened
Her eyes are fixed in a stare
Unblinking and uncaring for she is stoned
Shot so high she doesn’t realise she is soaked
She continues without thought down the road
Totally zombied
In my world
In my world
Anything you say can be used not against you
But for my good
My muse is mostly gotten from a word or phrases spoken
Thanking you
Keep all the goodly, muse filled speeches encapsulating the words I need, coming right back at Solape😄
Soft centre
Soft centre
Easily misled
Skillfully manipulated
As she has no mind of her own
Swayed by the ways of men
Turned aside by flimsy reasoning
Always going along with the crowd
A soft centre that cannot hold
One that disintegrates under any pressure
Yesterday is mine, tomorrow is yours
Yesterday is mine, tomorrow is yours
I revelled in the attention
I basked in the love
All eyes were upon me
I was in my element…yesterday
Tomorrow is yours
None dare take it away
It is your time to be worshipped
Your time to be the very epicentre of attraction
Tomorrow and other tomorrows are all yours
Make full use of it…absent regret
Castle Fantasy
Here, we have only one ambition
To make all your dreams come true
Pleasuring you is our ultimate reward
What would you care for, madame et monsieur?
A spa…a sauna?
Facials…facelifting?
We can alter and dis- alter virtually anything and anybody…in our castle fantasy
We can make…and break
Even exchange your reality for another’s
Switch your er nagging and overweight wife with one more temperate and hour glass figured. Your rambunctious kids for docile ones!
Whatever cuisine or wines you can think of, is on our handsome and robust menu. Properties in choice locations and automobiles, as well!
Aspiring for a political position? Within a heartbeat, that will also be arranged and viola!
Just dream it!
And we make it!
Beyond the answer
I have learnt that beyond the breezy ‘ I’m fine thank you’ response to our usual ‘How are you?’
Can lie heartbreak, discouragement, pain and so much sorrow
The ‘I’m fine thank you’ is an automatic default setting kind of answer
But, it takes a true friend, a sensitive one to decipher what lies just underneath the mechanical reply
A lot of people are hurting, a smile, a kind word or even a gift can keep someone going, give a renewed faith in humanity, make one stronger and happier
Life happens to all of us. No one is immune and so in this journey, we need each other’s shoulder to lean on intermittently.
Be the friend who sees beyond the façade and offers safe harbor
Spin a web
Intricately wooven
Carefully spun
Again and again
A matrix is formed
So many untruths
With a little sprinkling of truth
Put together
In a web…that cannot be unravelled
The other side of the divide
I watch you laugh, without a care in the world
A laughter that reaches deep down into your belly
Your grins literally light up the world
Your presence make it all complete
And wish…I could be on your side
Be with you….laugh without a care in the world
Be so happy as to forget the ache inside
