Combining a viator with words selected from Prompt #9 – a truly silly poem
A tremor travelled through the field
where beets were pushed up from below.
A bucket flew off from the fence,
it almost hit my elbow.
Lightbulbs burst throughout the farm.
A tremor travelled through the field.
The carport kept me safe from harm;
it saved me and my elk hat.
From the open kitchen door
I breathed in cinnamon so sweet,
A tremor travelled through the field.
the oven filled with apple treats.
I donned my well-worn jacket
prepared to flee the scene.
I scared a large jack rabbit.
A tremor travelled through the field.
Fun and clever!
Thanks Cindy…. It was a bit of silliness but I wanted the challenge of combining a poetic style and a prompt.
I love what you did here, nice combo!
Thanks Katrina… It was a bit of fun
A few metre hiccups but others riotous and creative. Repetition effective. Great way to start… it shows your state of mind… God forbid.
LOL….. I’ll work on the mental aspect
LOVE this! Especially since it was one of the few prompts I drew a total blank on. I’m jealous. 😉
It is very thought-provoking and created some nice imagery. Multiple versions of ‘elk hat’ come to mind.😂😂😂
Loved it.
Thanks Mark!! It was a bit of a lark…
you captured the form so well and never looked back. I llike the comedic elements- gives it a lightness.
Thanks so much Mikki… This one was a lark and a challenge!
I’m somehow enchanted by beets being torn asunder—maybe because they (along with so many other root vegetables—parsnips, anyone?) seem so whimsical, or just innocent; no beet would ever think of harming anyone or thing. (Yes, I think my comments are getting stranger as I go along!)
LOL>.. Thanks for your comments Katrin!
I hope she was safe in that carport! I’m afraid it would be the first thing to collapse, although in my poem it was the only thing left!
We will never know… and I thought about that carport collapsing too….but this was fiction after all. 🙂
