Pain

The wind rustled her hair as she walked along the shore.

Her smile hid the fact that inside her raged a war.

She walked to and fro, moving along with the tide.

The sounds of the ocean helped heal the pain inside.

She stopped for a moment and stared into the abyss.

She wondered if the ocean took her, would she be missed?

Destiny

Waiting, patiently waiting, for direction, for a sign.

Showing me my purpose, what is meant to be mine.

Darkness turns to light, as the sun begins to shine.

Revealing my true destiny, of God’s own design.

Hello From Texas!

I love poetry, have written a lot of it over the years, but this is my first poetry marathon.  I am a little nervous about pushing myself to create something new every hour, but it’s also exciting.  I’m looking forward to the challenge, to meeting some amazing poets, and can’t wait to read the other poems.  Good luck everyone!
