I sound check to make sure my voice is smooth and crisp in the PA. Make sure there is not popping or cracking in anyway. I need to know what I’m doing ahead of time. It seems to never matter how much preparation I take, something always goes wrong or I choke. Then I wake up from my dream and realize I’m trying to learn how to use the dashboard on The Poetry Marathon.

DarkBlue
Dark Blue Poetry is an outlet where the emotions can come out, followed by an uplifting soul. My inspiration comes from my English teacher Mr. Pruitt, Edgar Allan Poe, Levi the Poet, and Robert Frost, just to name a few. Most of my pieces come from my heart and life experiences as a man, friend, husband and father. I've been writing for 11 years now and have recently started performing my pieces live. I've performed at Heaven's Pit and several open mics in northern Virginia in the last couple years. My latest endeavor has been what I call picture poetry for a few local businesses. As well, I'm working on my final draft of my first chapbook.
