Memories Prompt #5 (image)

Looking around the empty house that belonged to my mom.  Memories scream in my mind.

I see the bedroom she died in.  The bed was 40 years old, it was what she and my father slept in all these years.  She looked frail and alone, on her side of the bed still.

Now I’m in charge of selling her house.  It’s empty except for an office rolly chair that I am taking with me, the rest is gone, just like my mom.

All I’m left with is memories.  Isn’t that with everything till we become a memory?

Soul Mate Prompt 4

We met at 15, I’m now 68.

Lightening hit when I saw him, I saw my fate.

To grow old together is our goal.

Our love connected at the soul.

My best friend, my soft place to land.

50 years together, hand in hand.

I’m blessed, more than I can say.

Forever together, I like it that way.

Circles and Holes Prompt 3 picture

Expectations, the pit society threw women in.

In a hole, surrounded by the demands of men, woman alone.

The circle was where we once drew strength, now a prison.

The guards sisters without courage to go within and use their power.

Fear of being alone without a man’s gaze.

They ruined our circles in fire and tradition, under the feet of men’s fears.

Go within, gather your power and fly free.

Find your tribe and make new circles of women that will fly with you.

Women united in freedom will change the world.

Change in a Decade Prompt 2

Change in a Decade

I look down the corridors of time.

A decade ago, my life sublime.

Strong, no illness in this frame.

School, work, family focus was my name.

Illness knocked me over, out for the count.

Blew away my dreams, now I live with doubt.

Gone in one decade, only memories now.

Reinvent with new parameters, I’m still working on how.

Time Prompt 1

I wear time, present, future, past.

It feels like a movie that moves way to fast.

In the mirror everyday, I see change.

Looking for the me I know, it’s all so strange.

If time is an illusion, a man made thing.

Wouldn’t it be great if it was forever spring?
