Releasing the Fear

Living in fear

Paralysed in every facet of your life

Enduring unnecessary pain and anguish

Why? Unable to trust oneself

To let go of the fear

Where did the fear come from?

Emotional pain

Found deep inside

Hiding in the shadows

Directions given to the shadows

by limiting beliefs and past regrets

in short Guilt and recriminations!

How does one free themselves from this nightmare?

Self-Acceptance that we are

Truly loved and Self-forgiveness

By setting ourselves free

We can dance with the moon

And be re energised by the sun.

The best that you can be!

Don’t be an imposter in your own life!

Stand in your power

Speak your truth

Break up with Fear, Anger and Worry

You are way too good for them

Hang out with Love, Wisdom and truth

Much more fun to be had

Open your heart

tear down the walls!

Explore the love unconditional

Start with yourself first and foremost

The rest will take care of itself

And watch it spread far and wide

Distance is no boundary

For intentions originating from the heart

Are far reaching and have no concept of time or distance

Be the best that you can be

Start out small and before you know it

The momentum is in full swing!

Make peace with yourself for we are all

A work in progress

Every little bit helps to move us

Along the way to being the best

that we can be

The Gift

The gift given from love

Never taken for granted

Practice and nurture

Through the ebb and flow of life

Rising and falling like

A ship at sea

And when moored safely at to the shore

Let the gift shine brightly for all

To see after years

Of protection and nurturing

Lets share the beauty

And the wonder

Of what is the gift

A message given to

Everyone at precisely the right time

No longer hiding the treasure

that is the gift.

Home is where the heart is

So often there is a sense

Of feeling adrift, disconnected

An indescribable feeling of loneliness

A sense of a small battered vessel

Being thrown about in a choppy sea

Lamenting for a sheltered cove

The warmth of a fire side

The smell of a home cooked meal

The promise of a loving embrace

Feeling that sense of ‘home’

We all yearn for the home of

Our heart of hearts

Some find it immediately

And grip it with both hands

Never to leave their sight

For others it’s a search

Ongoing for some time

Even a life time

Search and searching for the light

In the stormy seas

To that special place of where

The heart of heart lives

That place called Home.

The Joke’s on You!

You would often say that

I’d take a hefty fall from grace

Struggle with the job at hand

And the challenges that

Life would present itself.

And yet slow and systematically

I’ve stayed a float

Resilient of the experiences

that life had shown me

In surmountable challenges

Have been mine to take

Some by chance and others I have sought out.

The thrill of the chase

The mastery of the situation

The mental challenge of manoeuvring around people’s ego

Defying the odds of success

Standing firm in my resolve to work through

Many a difficult circumstance

So you see the Joke is indeed on you!

For the battle that ensued inside of me

Fuelled by own self-doubt and influenced by your

Adept ability to undermine has been thwarted

Let’s keep the jokes coming

For the joke is indeed on you!

Hello!

My name is Meg and this is my first poetry marathon! I’m from Geelong Vic Australia

I’m looking forward to the challenge of producing a number of poems in a relatively short period of time.

Also I’m a relative newbie to the writing scene. I’ve been writing poetry since my early teenage years mainly as an avenue of self expression and reflection of the many stages in my life. As I’ve become older I have definately enjoyed inspirational writing.

I have oodles amount of notebooks with poetry and other writing and decided recently to compile them all into an ebook. I’m hoping this marathon will assist me in developing a discipline to write regularly instead of spasmodically as it has always been.

How I’ve been preparing for this challenge is firstly clearing my schedule. I’m a dedicated runner so the run will be early morning and out of the way before the 9am start.

I’ve been noting ideas in a notebook for several poems as a prompt so if I do run out of ideas I have some prepared. Also looking at sleep breaks if required and setting alarms so that I’m awake to post each hour.

I’m looking forward to connecting with other writers and joining the community as having support and a common goal is positive and assists every one
