Gone Too Soon /6th Hour

I wish I could have loved you
The way you deserved to be loved

But you ran with the wild ones
Not easily harnessed, a free spirit

I saw a side of you that no one saw
A side I longed to honor and teach

Your mind, heart and soul weren’t ready
They were all just beyond my reach

I sat and waited year after year
Reserving the words you might want to hear

Time moved on slow and steady
I gave up pursuing, you still were not ready

We met a few times but you were in love
I decided to leave it to our Father above

Little did we know our time would be lessened
Our final date cut short, it never happened

My life quickly ended one day after work
By a demon who had no regards for my worth

I left with a longing I felt deep inside
I pray we will meet in the afterlife.

I watch from above and I guide from afar
You will always be embedded in my heart like a scar.

Sunflower Yellow/ 5th Hour

A valley of sunflowers
Looking like a field
Of melted cheddar cheese
Wine glass in my hand
I embody this space
Lounging underneath
The great oak
Meditating on the fact
That the last thing we lose…
…is hope
Satchel in hand
I continue this walk
With a heart full of faith
And the spirit of God.

Another Whodunnit – 4th Hour

So here we are
100 years in the future

So many wounds opened
And not one has been sutured

A great many lives lost
One senseless explosion

Leaving holes in the legacy
Of the families left broken

We walk a fine line
Between what’s right and wrong

Never taking the time
To determine the cause

Still unresolved
How those lives were lost

Nary a culprit
Has been found to be at fault

After so long It’s been clearly forgotten
The truth of the matter buried in a coffin.

Too many players
and not enough game

The bombing of Wallstreet
A mystery that remains.

Dance with the Wind -Hour 3

She dances for the moon
A flowy dress
Her body does caress
The wind howls eerily
This night a cool breeze blows

Her feet kick up sand
As she floats
Through the air
Like an acrobat
To the rhythms of the drum

On lookers feel
Her melancholy
In her every step
Every curtsy
Every bow

She serenades the moon
As she will soon fade away
Into the night
Until the cycle repeats
In 28 days she’ll dance again by moonlight

Snowy Night Hour 2

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near

I see the trees weighed down with snow
It’s getting late we’d better go

But oh before we start the trot
I think it’s best we give some thought

To preparations for the trip
But wait you can’t prepare a whim

Oh woe is me I should have stayed
At home where my warm bed is made

Oh well I guess it’s just too late
Let us enjoy what God creates

The trees, the snow, the wooded scenes
The cooling chill upon our cheeks

Until we’re home in warmth and fed
Let us embrace the snowy blanket ahead

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near

Final Dance – Hour 1

Her feet swiftly burrowed
In the depths of warm sand

As she sat in admiration
Of the creation at hand

Every grain a reminder
of the great “I am”

Surrounded by a beauty
The expanse of the land

With a quickness it wrapped her
In a ferocious embrace

In this dance as she dipped
It covered her face

Arms flailing unable
To utter any words

She drifted ever so gently
This dance never rehearsed

She succumbed to place
Of submission and surrender

Never once for a moment
Did she think this dance would end her

“Books were safer than other people anyway.” – Neil Gaiman

They told stories
That lived in the minds
Of those who told them.
Their pages laden with details
Of love stories and broken hearts
Of mysteries
And works of art
Of music
And sing alongs
Of intricate things
That sometimes
Made no sense
Yet still belonged.
From front to back
The spine held stories
Long ago left behind.
But not mine.
For mine was one of struggle
And triumph
That carried its own weight.
A fresh and intentional perspective
A story told
On a leap of faith.
Today it’s a story that deserves
To be heard.
A story that seems so incredible once it’s heard.
But the scars
prove it’s a validity
No need to remain hurt.
Forgiveness is the key
And understanding
What it’s worth.
No matter what you believe…
God comes first.

Gentle Flower of Aggresion

Touching her was magic
To my finger tips
Her soft supple lips
The quencher
To my thirsty drip
Her sensual kiss
As soft as a petals bliss
Never ending love
I always miss.
I wish she was the one
That understood
The place I’m in
Her gentle love
The one that’s always
Hit or miss.
It’s sad it’s come to this
But now I know
It is what it is.

No Regrets

I can’t even say
That I wish I had said yes
Because my life
Even though
It was a mess
It was a series of tests
That otherwise
Might have caused more distress
And I learned
What I needed to learn
And I firmly believe
That Gods plan is impeccable
And right in time.

My Babies

My children…
The stars in my eyes
The breath in my lungs
My reason for living
I don’t know what I would do
If not for the love
I have from the angels
God has given me.
They are my legacy
The best of me.
