The Walrus and The Carpenter
When I was young I thought
The Carpenter was angry that
The Walrus had EATEN all the oysters.
What I did not realize was that
The Carpenter was angry that
The Walrus had eaten ALL the oysters.

Alice is a hero of mine! What a wonderful reflection on childhood innocence. I believe these two characters are metaphors for organised religion and tithing or its equivalent. The whole notion of controlling the lives of others, yet through your young eyes you saw a hero instead of an angry man.
